Precision H₂S monitoring engineered for extreme conditions and regulatory compliance
PDO’s Greater Simr Field required a highly reliable H₂S monitoring solution capable of operating in extreme environmental conditions while meeting stringent regulatory standards. Experts E & I rose to the challenge, designing, engineering, integrating, and supplying a specialized H₂S analyzer system tailored for hydrocarbon gas applications.
The analyzer employs Tunable Diode Laser (TDL) technology with Off-Axis Integrated Cavity Output Spectroscopy (OA-ICOS) to deliver continuous, high-accuracy measurement of H₂S. Housed in a Zone 1 SS316 three-sided shelter with sunshade, the system ensures operational safety and durability in the field. The package includes an integrated Pressure Reducing Station, a Secondary Sample Conditioning System, and sampling components crafted from Super Duplex Stainless Steel and Hastelloy to withstand corrosion and process variations. Heat-traced sample lines, monoblock DBB probe arrangements, and cylinder rack setups further guarantee stable and precise operation.
Throughout the project, the team overcame significant challenges, including ensuring full compliance with client specifications and industry standards, optimizing the sampling system for high-accuracy measurements despite fluctuating process conditions, and engineering the system for reliability under extreme environmental stresses.
The project culminated in the successful completion of the Integrated Factory Acceptance Test (IFAT) on 15th January 2025 at our Integration Facility in Musaffah, Abu Dhabi, followed by the on-time shipment of the fully integrated H₂S analyzer package to PDO in Oman. This achievement underscores Experts E & I’s ability to deliver complex analytical solutions that combine precision, safety, and operational excellence under demanding conditions.
