Modernizing Naphtha and Gas Oil Analysis at ADNOC Refining

Delivering safer, automated, and compliant analytical solutions

ADNOC Refining relied on outdated Naphtha RVP and Flash Point analyzers that were manual, maintenance-intensive, and limited in safety and compliance. With obsolete models, poor accessibility, and missing lifecycle documentation, operational risks were increasing, and process efficiency was constrained.

Experts E & I stepped in to upgrade and integrate the analyzers, delivering a comprehensive solution that transformed operations. The Naphtha RVP analyzer was fully replaced, while the Flash Point Analyzer (FPA4) was revamped with full sample recovery, automatic validation, and leak interlocks. Safety and compliance were enhanced with updated SCS drawings aligned to ADNOC HIRA standards, including automatic leak shut-off and full hazardous area compliance.

Automation was seamlessly integrated with 4+ analog outputs and DCS interfacing, supported by a validation tank setup and lifecycle documentation. Two years of spares and 15-year documentation ensured long-term reliability, while the project was executed on time, from procurement to SAT, with minimal downtime.

The impact was immediate. ADNOC Refining now operates with enhanced process safety, reduced maintenance downtime, and full compliance, while benefiting from transparent cost structures and improved maintainability. The successful SIT/SAT and 15-day zero-failure performance run confirmed that the upgraded analyzers deliver reliable, efficient, and sustainable analytical operations.
